Physio Watsonia: getting here, balance & common questions

Rosanna Physio is on Bellevue Avenue in Rosanna, just south of Watsonia and still inside the City of Banyule. Greensborough Highway links the two directly, so most Watsonia patients are here in well under ten minutes.

Getting here from Watsonia

  • By car: about 7 minutes straight down Greensborough Highway, the road that connects Watsonia, Yallambie and Rosanna.
  • Parking: the clinic sits directly opposite a 120-space car park, which matters if you are coming with a walker, a pram or someone you are driving to their appointment.
  • By train: two stops on the Hurstbridge line, Watsonia to Macleod to Rosanna, then a short walk to Bellevue Avenue.
  • Watsonia (3087) and Rosanna (3084) are both City of Banyule suburbs, so you are staying local.

Physiotherapy at every stage of life

Watsonia has a real mix of households and we see the whole range. School-age patients from Loyola College and the local primary schools come in with growth-related knee and heel pain and sporting injuries. Working-age patients bring the familiar desk-and-commute complaints, low back and neck pain, plus weekend sport. And a large share of our Watsonia patients are older adults managing arthritis, joint replacements, and staying steady on their feet.

Balance, dizziness and staying on your feet

If you or a parent has had a fall, or the room spins when you roll over in bed, that is worth assessing properly rather than living with. Benign positional vertigo is common, and it is often resolved in one or two sessions with the right repositioning manoeuvre. Where the problem is balance and strength rather than the inner ear, we build a graded program to reduce falls risk. We have a physiotherapist with specific vestibular training, which is not something every local clinic offers.

What Watsonia patients see us for

Back and neck pain, arthritis and joint pain, sports injuries, shoulder pain, rehabilitation after hip and knee replacements, vertigo, dizziness and balance, and women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. We also offer dry needling, remedial massage and exercise physiology.

Common questions from Watsonia patients

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. A referral is only needed for a Medicare care plan, WorkCover or the TAC.

I have had a fall. Is that something you treat?
Yes. We assess strength, balance and the reason for the fall, and put a program in place to reduce the risk of another one. If it is a dizziness problem we will test for that too.

Can I claim my private health on the spot?
Yes. We have HICAPS on site, so your rebate comes off immediately and you only pay the gap.

Is the clinic easy to get into?
Yes, and the car park directly opposite means a short walk from the car to the door.

Call our reception on (03) 9457 2336 or book online, and we will get you moving again.
